The goal of Man Alive is to mentor and council at risk males by providing them with increased academic and personal support. In addition, cultural enrichment and college tour activities are provided for students in the Man Alive program. Events include trips to tour four-year university and college campuses around the state as well as attend cultural events and join positive role models at their place of employment to enable youths to ask questions and enjoy benefits of one on one mentoring program.
“The cultural aspect of Man Alive is just as important in our community as food and oxygen,” says one mentoree. “Many of us would never see a positive role model if we searched a lifetime, but this program helped to see another way of life.”
